Boatie – Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how MSSW Solutions Ltd (“we”, “us”) handles information in connection with the Boatie app. You can print this page from your browser if you want a copy.

What stays on your device

Boatie is designed so that most of what you use day to day stays under your control:

  • Settings, recent ports, waypoints/GPX files, and similar app content are stored on your device and, if you enable sync, in your iCloud account. We do not operate a server that reads that content.
  • Location and instrument data used for navigation features are processed on your device (and, if you connect one, via your own NMEA Wi‑Fi gateway). We do not receive a live feed of your position.

What we (or our providers) process

  • Support email — if you contact us (including from the app), we receive whatever you choose to send (typically your email address and message). We use Microsoft 365 to host email. We do not use support addresses for marketing.
  • Purchases and subscriptions — payments are handled by Apple. To unlock and restore purchases we use RevenueCat, which works with a pseudonymous app user id and purchase/receipt metadata. We do not receive your Apple ID or payment card details. That id is only linked to you as a person if you choose to share it with us in a support request.
  • Anonymous usage analytics — we use Amplitude solely for anonymous feature-usage tracking (for example, which screens or features are used). This is not used for advertising or to build a marketing profile.
  • Optional diagnostics — if you agree to send a diagnostic or crash-style report when we ask, we use it only to fix problems.

Third-party services

Tide, weather and chart information shown in the app comes from third-party data sources and Apple frameworks. Those providers may process technical requests needed to deliver the data; that content is for information only (see our Terms).

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for advertising. We only use providers as described above to run Boatie and support you.

Your choices

You can stop optional diagnostics by declining to send them. You can manage subscriptions in your Apple ID settings. If you have a question about information related to your use of Boatie, email hello@msswsolutions.com.
