Please read these Terms carefully before using Boatie (the “Service”) operated by MSSW Solutions Ltd (“we”, “us”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

What Boatie is (and is not)
Boatie provides tides, weather, tidal streams, reference information and optional navigation aids for recreational use. It is not a primary means of navigation and must not be relied on as a substitute for official charts, almanacs, proper watchkeeping, or good seamanship. Tide heights, streams, forecasts and chart-related displays may be incomplete, delayed or wrong. You remain responsible for all navigational decisions.
Subscriptions
Boatie is free to download. Access to the Service requires a subscription. Plans may include tiers such as Basic, Standard and Premium with different feature sets, billed through Apple on a recurring monthly or annual basis depending on what you choose.
Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage or turn off auto-renew in your Apple Account settings after purchase. The current period is not refunded mid-cycle by us when you cancel auto-renew.
We will not charge for features without making clear what is paid. All purchases are made via Apple In‑App Purchase. Apple’s terms apply to billing and refunds — Apple Media Services terms.
Experimental features
Some features (for example navigation narration or NMEA Wi‑Fi gateway support) may be marked experimental. They may change, break, or be removed. Do not rely on them for safety-critical navigation.
Acceptable use
- Do not misuse, reverse engineer, or attempt to disrupt the Service.
- Do not use the Service in a way that breaks the law.
- Keep your device and Apple Account secure.
Intellectual property
The app, branding and our original content belong to us. Third-party tide, weather and map data remain subject to their providers’ rights and terms. You must not copy or redistribute the Service except as allowed by Apple’s rules and applicable law.
“As is” and liability
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular passage or purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on tide, weather, stream, chart or navigation information in the app, from loss of connectivity, or from inability to use the Service — including loss of profits, data, or consequential loss — whether or not we were advised of the possibility.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under UK law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).
Changes and availability
We may change, suspend or discontinue the Service (or parts of it), and may change prices for future subscription periods via the App Store. We are not liable to you for those changes.
Apple’s EULA
Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies: Apple Standard EULA. If these Terms conflict with Apple’s EULA on a point Apple requires, Apple’s EULA prevails on that point.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms by posting a new version on this page. The effective date below will change when we do.
